In one of the historical moments, Droupadi Murmu has become the country’s 15th President. She is the 2nd woman after Pratibha Patil and the first woman from the tribal group to hold the country’s highest office.

Marking many firsts along her political journey, she has traversed a long distance – From a school teacher in Odisha to becoming the President of India, her journey is truly an inspiration for the entire country. Apart from being Cabinet Minister in Odisha, she was also the Governor of Jharkhand between 2015 to 2021.
During her address at the summit, she stated that, “Development is a continuous process. It is our duty to make everyone’s basic requirements meet. And we are continuously working to transform the urban landscape in the state. In the Smart City Mission of India, Ranchi has been selected, which is a matter of pride for us. Along with Urbanisation, we are also taking care of environment conservation”. She had also elaborated on how schemes like PM Awaas Yojana and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and several others were effectively being implemented, showing the commitment of the State Government in putting into effect all the major central and state policies. She had also underlined the government measures and schemes being implemented in the state to strengthen development.

She had congratulated Elets Media Group for organising the summit, saying they are doing remarkable work in the path of India’s transformational journey. She had also thanked Elets Group and shared that such summits must be regularly organised to help relevant stakeholders come to a platform and share their ideas and innovations which help in taking India’s development journey forward.
