Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh Dr Sameer Sharma Gets 6 Months Extension

The Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh Dr Sameer Sharma has been given an extension of six months on his tenure to hold the top bureaucratic post. The 1985-Batch IAS officer, Dr Sharma, was slated to retire on 31 May 2022, however, he will now continue to serve the State till 30 November 2022.


The orders came after the Government of India expressed their consent to the request made by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to extend the tenure of Dr Sharma as the CS of the state.

Earlier, he was supposed to retire on 30 November 2021 but the Central government granted him an extension of six months till 31 May 2022.
