In a recent move, the Government of Madhya Pradesh appointed senior IPS officer Sudhir Kumar Saxena as the new Director-General of Police (DGP) of Madhya Pradesh on March 4, 2022. The 1986-Batch IPS officer, Saxena, was posted as Secretary (Security), Cabinet Secretariat in New Delhi while serving central deputation.
The Government of India, on March 2, issued orders to relieve Saxena from his central deputation approved his repatriation to the parent cadre. The move came following the request from the state government to appoint Saxena as the new DGP of Madhya Pradesh.
