The Government of India, on October 9, issued transfer and posting orders for M Ravichandran and appointed him as the Secretary for the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
The 1996-Batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, Ravichandran is presently serving as Director, National Centre for Ocean and Polar Research, Ministry of Earth Sciences, in Goa. He has also been leading the coordination of several scientific missions in India to Antarctica and the Arctic.
