Charges of 9 IPS Officers Reshuffled in Tamil Nadu

The Government of Tamil Nadu on May 10 released orders to transfer and repost nine IPS officers in the state causing a major bureaucratic reshuffle.


  1. Md Shakeel Akhtar (IPS 1989-Batch) has been transferred and posted as Director General of Police (DGP), Crime Branch-Crime Investigation Department (CB-CID).
  2. P Kandaswamy (IPS 1989-Batch) has been transferred and appointed as DGP, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption.
  3. Dr M Ravi (IPS 1991-Batch) has been assigned the charge of Additional Director General (ADG), Administration.
  4. C Eswaramoorthy (IPS 1991-Batch) IGP, Intelligence (Internal Security).
  5. N Z Asiammal has been given the post of Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Intelligence.
  6. P Aravindhan (IPS 2010-Batch) becomes Superintendent of Police (SP), Special Branch, CID.
  7. S Saravanan has been posted as SP-II, Organised Crime Intelligence Unit, Chennai.
  8. R Thirunavukkarasu has been made SP, Security Branch CID-I, Chennai.
  9. P Saminathan will assume the post of SP, Security Branch CID-II, Chennai.
