This drive to innovate is proven by Veracity’s track record over more than a decade, pioneering an unmatched range of IP Transmission “firsts”, such as Ethernet and POE over coax, allowing analogue cameras to be replaced with IP cameras whilst retaining the cabling and delivering the power over the same cable; Ethernet and POE extenders to double network cable reach still with full speed data rates; and very long-range point-to-point network adaptors, delivering full-speed Ethernet and POE up to 820m on standard network cable. Further innovations include patents in sequential video storage technology, network switch design for surveillance systems and simplifying IP camera installation processes by providing smart tools.
Veracity’s innovation in video surveillance recording can be found in its unique approach to long-term IP video data storage, where it developed a unique sequential filing system (SFS™), which combined with its Linear Array of Idle Disks (LAID™), enables its COLDSTORE systems to provide extremely high disk reliability, high capacity, low TCO and reduced disk costs, which Veracity estimates can enable a 90 per cent power saving compared to RAID-based systems. These surveillance storage systems provide fast access to evidence and are designed specifically for long retention requirements.
Expanding surveillance portfolio and operations in India
With offices in England, North America, Middle East and India, Veracity’s IP transmission products, display and storage systems are typically sold through distribution channel partners globally, or as a part of large project systems to security installers or end-users, reaching customers in more than 50 countries worldwide.
In 2016, Veracity acquired UK-based integrated command and control software specialist Icomply, now called Veracity Systems. In addition to providing Veracity with an expanded portfolio, this acquisition equipped the business with a team of surveillance experts located in both the UK and in India, with the Indian subsidiary now called Veracity Systems Surveillance Pvt Ltd.
Through growth in demand in India for Veracity’s integrated command & control centre (ICCC) software system (VIEWSCAPE™) and its IP transmission and video storage products, Veracity has increased its presence in India.
Vivek Kumar adds, “We have been very busy in last three to four years deploying large scale, ICCC software solutions across the world and especially in India. Majority of these ICCCs are for Safe Cities, Smart Cities, Enterprises, Public Sector Oil & Gas, Power Plants and Banking. Veracity offered solutions to these customers where they were able to retain their legacy systems as well as install new advanced systems and the open platform VIEWSCAPE allowed them to manage, control and supervise the incidents generated by multiple sub-systems from a unified interface for better situational awareness and reduced response time. In most of these projects, our application platform has integrated with complex third-party systems such as CCTV – analogue and IP, DVR, NVR, VMS, Access Control, Perimeter, Intrusion, IoT, Smart Lights, Traffic Management Systems, GPS, GIS, VOIP, Energy and other utilities.”

To meet the demand for surveillance equipment and integrated command and control systems in India’s growing economy, in January 2020, Veracity opened a state of the art Experience Centre at its Mumbai office, which allows customers, system integrators and consultants to see products in a live environment, and systems with real-time third-party integrations. The company is also equipping its Indian HQ in New Delhi with a similar Experience Centre facility.
