Haryana sets no bar on number of people inside malls, religious places


As the nation enters into the fifth phase of the lockdown or popularly known as the Unlock 1, the shopping malls, markets, religious places are allowed to resume operations from today, June 8. The Government of Haryana has not set a bar on the maximum number of people allowed inside these places in SOP released by the government on June 7. However, the guidelines do mention that number of entrants should be minimal and people inside should ensure social distancing.

As per an official spokesperson, preventive measures including simple public health measures, social distancing, wearing of face covers or masks would be observed by all workers and visitors… However, in the containment zones, religious places, hotels, restaurants, and shopping malls shall remain closed.”

According to the SOP released, people above the age of 65, children below the age of 10, people with co-morbidities, and pregnant women have been asked to stay home. Moreover, people inside religious places, malls, restaurants have been asked to maintain a distance of six feet from each other. Also, the use of hand sanitisers, masks have been made mandatory. The SOP further states that the staffers delivering food or other products to people at their doorstep must be subjected to thermal scanning before they go for delivery.
