In the wake of growing number of Coronavirus cases and Karnataka government intensifying its efforts to fight the pandemic, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa announces Sunday curfew. The CM announced, on June 27, that from July 5 to August 2, curfew will be observed on Sundays. However, only essential services will be allowed in Sundays.
Moreover, an order released by the Chief Secretary TM Vijay Bhaskar on Sunday stated, besides the lockdown on Sundays, the night curfew will be imposed from 8 pm to 5 am. The night curfew was observed earlier as well but now the time of curfew has gained an hour more. The prior hours of curfew were 9 pm to 5 am.

Further, the order also stated that all the government offices, including boards and corporations, will be closed on all Saturdays from July 10 to August 8. However, the government offices offering essential services will remain functional.
