Delhi-Noida border

Following the relaxation announced by the Centre for the fourth phase of the lockdown, Suhas LY, District Magistrate, Gautam Budh Nagar, on May 19, said that the Delhi-Noida border will remain “sealed” for now. We have sought instructions from the state government as regards to the implementation of Point 3(1) and 7(12) of GO of Home department, said Suhas.

The Noida-Delhi border was sealed earlier when the COVID cases that surfaced in Gautam Budh Nagar were found to have links with Delhi. However, the people working in essential services are allowed to cross the border and those who had administration-issued passes.

Although the Ministry of Home Affairs has allowed the inter-state travel during the lockdown 4.0, the final decision has been given to the mutual consent of the two states. Hence, it was decided to keep the Noida-Delhi border sealed in order to prevent further transmission. The lockdown 4.0 came in effect from May 18 and heavy vehicular traffic was witnessed at the Delhi-Noida borders at the Kalindi Kunj and Delhi-Noida-Direct (DND) Flyway stretch.
