L Srinivas, Chairperson, Standing Committee for Taxation and Finance said that the 2020-21 budget of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) will be ready by March end, and it will be ‘realistic’.
Talking to the reporters about the budget on Tuesday, March 17, Srinivas said, the Committee would wait for the instructions from the Government of Karnataka about when to present the budget. His statement referred to the various restrictions and prohibitions being implemented country wide.
The civic body will also be considering establishing more nurseries to raise saplings which can be further planted across the city. “Saplings raised can be sold to citizens at a nominal price. People approach private nurseries to buy saplings, BBMP can step in this space and can make it another vertical for generating revenue”, Srinivas said.
