Arvind Singh, 1988-Batch officer of Maharashtra cadre has been appointed as the Chairman of Airports Authority of India (AAI). He took the charge on Thursday.

Prior to this appointment, Singh was the Additional Chief Secretary (Energy), Government of Maharashtra. He has also served the posts of chairman and managing director of Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd. and the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd. (MSETCL).

Singh has taken over the post from Anuj Aggarwal, who was holding the additional charge of AAI Chairman when Guruprasad Mohapatra was elevated to the post of Secretary, Department of Industry and Internal trade, in the Ministry of Commerce.

AAI announced the appointment of Singh in a tweet, “We are happy to announce that Sh. Arvind Singh (IAS) assumed charge as Chairman of #AAI today. He’ll lead our efforts to achieve organisational goals of providing world-class airport infrastructure, top-of-the-line facilities and world’s best air navigation services.”


Singh has pursued Bachelor’s and Master’s of Economics from St. Stephen’s College and Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi respectively.
