Parliament winter session to commence from November 18

The winter session of Parliament will commence from November 18 and would last till December 13. Several pending bills and ordinances are likely to be taken up in the winter session.


One of the ordinances is diminishing of the corporate tax rate for new and domestic manufacturing companies with an aim to control economic slowdown and boost growth was issued in September to affect to amendments to the Income Tax Act 1961 and Finance Act, 2019.

The subsequent mandate, which was also issued in September, prohibited the sale, manufacture and storage of e-cigarettes and comparative items.

Over the most recent two years, winter sessions have been met on November 21 and finished in the primary seven day stretch of January.
