Arvind Mayaram


Rajasthan’s newly sworn-in Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has appointed retired IAS officer Arvind Mayaram as his economic advisor.

Mayaram is an Indian Administrative Service officer of 1978 batch belonging to Rajasthan cadre. He was Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Government of India. He was also the Tourism Secretary earlier.

Mayaram participated in eWorld Forum, 2011 which was organised by Elets Technomedia.


In Rajasthan Government, he held post of Commissioner, Investment and NRI, Secretary Planning, Secretary Industries and Commerce and Principal Secretary Training.He is often credited with having conceptualised and established National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).


Mayaram is a Ph.D in Finance. He was also a Special Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development. He was also the alternate Governor of India on the Boards of World Banks, Asian Development Bank and Africa Development Bank. He was India’s Finance Deputy in G20 and BRICS.
