Engineless train for Delhi-Howrah soon

Indian Railways is planning to introduce a train-18 trainset on Delhi-Howrah route.

Train-18 is an engine less train which has 16 coaches and has driving cabs at both the ends.

The train is being built at Integral Coach Factory (ICF). The trial of this train is going to take place soon.

The train, which can be run at 160 km/per hour, will cover the 1,400 kms journey in 12 hours.


Currently, the Rajdhani Express takes nearly 16 hours to complete this route.

All the coaches of this train are going to be AC. The crew of this train will soon get special training.

With sliding doors, all the coaches will have vacuum toilets, as are available on aeroplanes.
