In HRDA, we are always striving to create effective infrastructure and to ensure basic civic amenities. To ensure transparency and accountability, we are allocating various infrastructural development projects to industry through tendering process, Dr Tanzeem Ali, Chief Finance Officer (CFO), Haridwar Roorkee Development Authority (HRDA) shares in an interview with Souvik Goswami of Elets News Network (ENN).

What is your mandate as the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) of Haridwar Roorkee Development Authority (HRDA)?

Being the CFO of one of the biggest and important departments of district Haridwar, I have a crucial role to play. From preparing and presenting budget before the board, to seeing the financial viability of all projects undertaken by HRDA and to ensure that all payments are made timely and correctly, all these are the main responsibility of my work.

How developmental work is being undertaken by HRDA for Haridwar’s transformation?

In HRDA, we are always striving to create effective infrastructure and ensure basic civic amenities. To ensure transparency and accountability, we are allocating various infrastructural development projects to industry through tendering process.

This ensures timely delivery of projects with close monitoring and outcome-based results. But we have to do more and we are working on that path to improve.It is expected that best of the fintech solutions will be seen in 2021 Maha Kumbh in Haridwar.

What is your perception about the concept of ‘Cashless Kumbh’?

‘Cashless Kumbh in Hairdwar’ will set a precedent. Technology is changing fast everyday. And, we have to adopt new-age technology to provide services to the citizens. At the same time, we are witnessing game changing transformation in the BFSI sector. We want to adopt best of the fintech solutions to ensure ‘Cashless Maha Kumbh 2021’ in Haridwar.

2016 ardh Kumbh witnessed adoption of some innovations but 2021 Maha Kumbh in the ‘Gateway to Gods’ will see the use of transformational innovation and technology to cater to crores of pilgrims, tourists and we want to ensure hassle-free, less cashbased transactions. Foreign exchange online counters, mobile ATMs, more use of PoS machines, digital payments—all these are planned to ensure ‘Cashless Maha Kumbh 2021 in Haridwar.’
