mPassport SevaTo make the process of issuing passports more easy, the Ministry of External Affairs has launched a new mobile application mPassport Seva which allows the citizens to get their passports from anywhere in the country.

This is specially beneficial to those who are not residing at their permanent address and working somewhere else. Now they can get their passports issued from their hometown.

The police verification will be done at the address which has been mentioned in the application.


Through mobile application, the users can track status of their passport applications using file number and date of birth. For dispatched passports, the delivery status can also be tracked.

There were 77 Passport Seva Kendras made available in 48 years, while 231 more were added in the last 48 months.

Now marriage certificate has also been removed from the list of mandatory documents.This will directly benefit single parents while applying the passport.
