The Odisha Industrial Development Corporation (IDCO), the Public Sector Undertaking of the state has received the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puraskar-2017 in New Delhi.

President Ramnath Kovind gave away the award to the IDCO in recognition of its contribution to promotion of sports and nurturing talents in Odisha. IDCO Chairman-cum-Managing Director Sanjay Kumar Singh received the award on behalf of the organisation.  

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated the State PSU on winning the award.

“As the promoter of Kalinga Lancers(the first and only state PSU owned franchisee in Hockey India League) which has won the title this year, IDCO has played a key role in nurturing talents and popularising hockey in our state.

The highly successful 22nd Asian Athletics Championship for which Odisha has gained worldwide fame and acclaim would not have been possible without IDCO’s dedicated efforts to get world class infrastructure ready in record time of 90 days”, said Patnaik in his message.
