PM Narendra Modi

Interacting with a group of over 80 Additional Secretaries and Joint Secretaries serving in the Government of India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged them to use technology interventions to simplify governance processes.

With emphasis on e-governance, the government has been taking up various initiatives under the ambitious Digital India mission.

“The officials shared their experiences on performance-based administration, innovation in governance, education and skill development, etc,” the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO)  said in an official statement.

Responding to the points highlighted in the meeting, Modi emphasised that the government officers must not restrict themselves to files, but go to the field for  effective and informed decision-making.

“Officers should not look on their work as just a duty, but an opportunity to make a positive transformation for governance in the country,” he said adding that they should focus on development of the 100 most backward districts of India.
