Telangana officials to reach people through social media

Collectors and Superintendents of all the Telangana districts are now available on Facebook and Twitter to provide real time updates about various government initiatives to people.

People can also provide their feedback through social media to the authorities. According to the official policy of the government, all the officials of the district administration needs to have active Facebook pages and Twitter handles for social interaction with the common man, reported The Hindu.

Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao tweeted this information along with a list of District Collectors official twitter handles. Rao has also instructed the administration to make municipalities and other utility departments at the district level active on social media.

“This works two ways – getting the feedback directly from people and also to reach out to them directly,” said Director of Digital Media, Telangana, Dileep Konatham.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao too has realised social media’s power in engaging people and now follows Facebook keenly.
