Gurgaon’s social networking profile a hit

Chandigarh, Sept 10 – The social networking profile created by Municipal Corporation, Gurgaon to disseminate information about its activities and provide a platform to the people for feedback, has met with a very encouraging response.
Within one-and-a-half months of its launch, the Twitter account of the Municipal Corporation, @MunCorpGurgaon, has gained 596 followers. The number of followers is increasing by the day.
The followers have posted positive feedback and expressed appreciation for the works being carried out by the Municipal Corporation, including making the roads of Gurgaon pothole-free, anti-encroachment drives, arrangements for drainage and fogging carried out for prevention of Dengue and Malaria. The grievances posted by the people on the Twitter account were also being redressed by the Municipal Corporation.
Under the orders of Municipal Commissioner, T.L. Satyaprakash, fogging was being carried out by different teams in all four zones for prevention of Dengue, Malaria and Chikungunya. Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Asaruddin, has been appointed nodal officer for this purpose. Instructions have been issued to carry out fogging in areas affected by Dengue and Malaria on priority basis, and ensure immediate action on grievances received through toll-free number 1800-180-1817 and other channels.
