Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi appointed CBSE Chairman

Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) following a major bureaucratic reshuffle involving 19 Additional Secretaries and 29 Joint Secretaries, by the Government of India.

Chaturvedi, a 1987 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed for a period of five years, according to a Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) notification.

Following is the list of other officers reshuffled:

• Sanjeev Gupta, an IAS officer of Himachal Pradesh cadre of 1985 batch, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, DIPP (Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion). Gupta was serving in his home cadre. He replaces Shatrughna Singh, an IAS officer of 1983-batch of Uttarakhand cadre, who has been repatriated to his home cadre
• Vandita Sharma, a Karnataka cadre IAS officer of 1986 batch, has been appointed as Member (Finance), Atomic Energy/ Space/ Earth Commission, Sharma was in her home cadre
• Anshu Prakash, a 1986-batch IAS officer of Union Territory cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Heavy Industry. He was Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare
• Utpal Kumar Singh, an IAS officer of Uttarakhand cadre of 1986 batch, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare. He was Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare
• Jayashree Mukharjee, a Maharashtra cadre IAS officer of 1986 batch, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. She was in her home cadre.
• Alok Tandon, an Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer of 1986 batch, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat. He was Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat
• Alok Vardhan Chaturvedi, a 1986-batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, who was Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce
• Pramod Kumar Das, an IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre of 1986 batch, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Expenditure. He was serving as Joint Secretary, DoPT
• Girish Chandra Murmu, a Gujarat cadre IAS officer of the 1985 batch, has been shifted as Additional Secretary, Department of Financial Services, from Additional Secretary, Department of Expenditure.
• Gajender Bhujbal, an IES officer of 1981 batch,has been appointed as Additional Secretary and Financial Adviser, Department of Fertilisers
• Inder Jit Singh, a 1985-batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. He was in his home cadre
• Umesh Sinha, an IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre of 1986 batch, has been appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner (Additional Secretary rank), Election Commission of India. He was Deputy Election Commissioner
• Anil Kumar Khachi, a Himachal Pradesh cadre IAS officer of 1986 batch, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Financial Services. He was serving as Chief Vigilance Officer, Food Corporation of India
• Bipin Bihari Mallick, a 1988-batch IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre, who was Joint Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs
• Balwinder Singh Bhullar, an Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer of 1986 batch, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation. He has been serving as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation
• Guruprasad Mohapatra, a 1986-batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, has been appointed as Chairman, Airport Authority of India. He was serving as Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry
• S P Singh Parihar, a Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS officer of 1986 batch, has been appointed as Chairman, Central Pollution Control Board. He had been serving as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat.
• Jayshree Mukherjee, a 1986-batch IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry
• Jitendra Shankar Mathur, an IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre of 1982 batch, has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj. He was serving as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
• Suresh Kumar, an IAS officer of Jammu & Kashmir cadre of 1988 batch, who had been serving as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Defence, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Defence
• Veena Ish, a 1985-batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Member (Administration), National Highways Authority of India. She had been in her home cadre
• Abhay Tripathi, an IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre of 1986 batch, has been appointed as Senior Directing Staff, National Defence College. He was Senior Directing Staff (Joint Secretary level), National Defence College
• Vijay Kumar Dev, a Union Territory cadre IAS officer of 1987 batch, has been appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India
• Sunil Kumar, a 1987-batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Commerce and Industry
• Rupinder Singh, an IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre of 1996 batch, has been appointed as Deputy Director General, UIDAI
• Sudhesh K Shgahi, a Central Secretariat Service (CSS)officer, has been appointed as Deputy Director General (C&A), Department of Telecommunications
• Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh, an Indian P&T Accounts and Finance Service ((IP&TA&FS) officer of 1992 batch, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs
• K Moses Chalai, a 1990-batch IAS officer of Manipur-Nagaland cadre, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development
• A Jayathllak, an IAS officer of 1991 batch from Kerala cadre, has been appointed as Chairman, Marine Products Export Development Authority
• Vandana Kumar, a 1992-batch Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officer, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, DIPP (Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion)
