Title-DeedMuch of the problems related to land would have been solved if all states had a comprehensive land titling system. Well, not to worry now, Chandigarh becomes the first city in the country to introduce a conclusive land titling system.

The decision was taken in a meeting attended by Minister for Rural Development Chaudhary Birender Singh along with Vijay Madan, Secretary, Land Resources to move to a conclusive titling regime from presumptive titling system.

The direct benefits emanating from this step is that it guarantees title to citizens which in turn will reduce the civil disputes in courts and ownership of various properties shall be guaranteed by the state. Online certificates of title will be issued to property owners describing the ownership extension and rights with regard to share of percentage of the property.

This certificate displays unique land parcel ID apart from mandatory details like file number, site address, name of owner, father/husband/authorized signatory name and associated Aadhaar number and respective share percentage towards the property. The certificate shall also depict the key map of the sector where the property lies along zoomed view of the property and adjacent plots.
