
National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) has been awarded first prize by Ministry of Home Affairs under a new award scheme “Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar” for outstanding work in implementation of Hindi amongst Public Sector Undertakings.
This is the highest award given by the Government of India for implementation of official language.
R.S.T. Sai, CMD, NHPC received the award from Hon’ble President of India Pranab Mukherjee during a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Rajnath Singh, Union Minister for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs and Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs were also present on the occasion.

Before this, NHPC received first prize for outstanding implementation of official language amongst Public Sector Undertakings for the year 2008-09, 2009-10, 2011-12 and second prize for the year 2010-11 and 2012-13 under Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Shield.

Along with the development and generation of hydropower, NHPC has made remarkable progress in implementing Hindi. For its commendable achievements in implementation of Rajbhasha, the organisation has been conferred with several awards at national level.
