R R Verma, Director General of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), will hold additional charge of the post of Director General, Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D) with effect from April 1, 2015.
Verma is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the 1978 batch of Bihar cadre. He will be taking over from Rajan Gupta, IPS, a Punjab cadre officer of 1978) batch, who will retire on March 31.

The arrangement will continue till an incumbent to the post of Director General, BPR&D is appointed on a regular basis.
