IAS officer Anurag Agarwal will take over as new Home Secretary of Chandigarh. Agarwal, a 1994 batch IAS officer, is now serving in his cadre state – Haryana.
The central government has accorded approval to the proposal for inter-cadre deputation of Agarwal from Haryana to Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre for three years for appointment as Home Secretary, Chandigarh administration.

He will replace Anil Kumar, a 1988 batch IAS officer of Haryana cadre.
