Kerala Home Department issues transfer norms for Circle Inspectors

Kerala Home Department has issued new guidelines for the transfer of police officers in the rank of circle inspectors. New transfer norms were approved by home minister, Ramesh Chennithala, on Saturday,17th May 2014. It reads that no officer shall be transferred to his native place and those who have completed two years in a specific division will be transferred to a special unit.  Officers who have completed two years in any special unit will be transferred to a local unit. No officer will be allowed to continue for more than five years in a district. He/She may be allowed to continue in the same district only after a cooling off period of two years in another district, the norms say.


However, exemption has been given to officers on the verge of retirement. No officer who has less than two years left for retirement from the service will be transferred against his wishes.
