The National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), and the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), conducted an orientation workshop for traders to encourage digital literacy and enablement of ICT services, at the Constitutional Club of India, New Delhi, on 18th September 2013. The workshop was aimed at sensitising the trading community of the country and encouraging the traders to use ICT services. It was also focussed on promoting digital literacy among the trading community.
The workshop was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Union Minister for Information Technology & Communications, Kapil Sibal and was addressed by J Satyanarayana, Secretary, Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY). Dr Rajendra Kumar, Joint Secretary, Department of Electronics & Information Technology, other officials from the ministry, and Dr Ashwini Kumar Sharma, Managing Director, National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), were also present, along with the senior representatives of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT).
