Rajiv Gauba is new Additional Secretary, DeitY

Rajiv Gauba, a 1982 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.


Gauba will be replacing Rita Teaotia, who has been appointed Additional Secretary –Telecom.

Gauba has been on central deputation since 2009, after serving as the Resident Commissioner at Jharkhand Bhawan in New Delhi from 2005 to 2008.
Prior to this, he has also served as the Private Secretary to the Ministers of Environment & Forests, Non-Conventional Energy Sources and Defence.

Between 2001 and 2004, he was with the Department of Disinvestment, Ministry of Finance, at the Embassy of India in Washington DC.


He has also held various important assignments in the undivided state of Bihar, including as Collector and District Magistrate in the districts of Nalanda, Muzaffarpur and Gaya.
