Haryana Creating Resident Database for UID

The Haryana government is creating a database of all the residents in the state. The database is being created under the Unique Identification (UID) project of the central government which is in its initial stages of implementation in the state. The database which is being generated would be integrated with the delivery of citizen-centric services under various social welfare programmes of the state government to ensure that the benefits reach the targeted audience. The state has been actively implementing the UID project in the state. Till now under the project the state has identified a number of flagship projects like the Public Distribution System, driving licenses, vehicle registration, administration of commercial taxes and integrated financial management system, and is planning to take them up for implementation under the project. Further the state government has set up a state level empowered committee to oversee the implementation of the UID project. The state government is also planning to set up 13 ITIs and 96 Skill Development Centres in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode under Skill Development Scheme of the Central Government.
