INR 200 crores investment is being planned by Software services firm 3i Infotech in order to set up 12,500 rural internet outlets by December 2009.

INR 200 crores investment is being planned by software services firm 3i Infotech in order to set up 12,500 rural internet outlets by December 2009.

The funding for this will come through internal accruals. As per the expectations around 2,000 of these outlets will become functional by March 2009. These outlets will provide services such as insurance and telecom in partnership with ICICI Lombard, Airtel and Max New York Life.
