The Lakhswadeep Administration has formed a society which would enhance the IT Department to implement its policy and help in providing effective and citizen friendly government interfaces as part of its e-Governance initiatives.
10 assistant executives are appointed in the island to activate the Information Technology Society and strengthen the computer training.
The executives have started imparting training to the various divisions. Police personnels in Lakshadweep are the first section to be trained on the Common Integrated Police Applications.
This initiative would help in the promotion of the Union Territory as an IT destination.
