Indian Airforce Develops Online Accounting System

The Indian Air Force has developed the system 'Equipment Accounting Online System (EQUOLS)' in association with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The management system is based on Information Technology called the 'EQUOLS'.
With the help of the 'EQUOLS', the Indian Air Force will automate will transactions, which were being done by manually using vouchers, manual stock record cards, etc. The EQUOLS system will facilitate transparent, accurate, faster transactions at the same time providing for online auditing and provisioning of realistic future demands. The system will be implemented in two phases namely the pilots site and sense phase site. The initial implementation was at 27 pilot sites and thereafter the application was installed at remaining sites. So far, over 17.5 million entries have been transferred from manual records to the EQUOLS application.
