Government of Mizoram launches disaster management site

The website is directed towards creation of awareness amongst the masses with regard to disaster management in terms of its prevention as well as post disaster management and reactive strategies such as relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction. The website further intends to provide relief to the victims of natural calamities and also work towards prevention of loss of lives and properties coming from monsoons.


For further streamlining, the government plans to set up district level disaster management cells. Moreover, the state government will also set up Disaster Management Committees at the state, blocks and the village levels in order to reach out to the victims of various natural calamities on a more direct manner.


Mizoram is extremely prone to natural calamities such as cyclones and landslides. Therefore, every year a number of Silpaulin are distributed cost free to the victims.
