The French government launched a new 'Career record' service for its citizens which will enable them to trace their pension contributions through the Internet.

The service will help each contributor to know the details of the periods in which they were paying in the national pensions fund, or the basic funds as well as periods logged under the third-country systems.

The scheme comes with a PIN code that is kept strictly confidential to the individual concerned and the records available online are only accessible with this PIN code. The code can be obtained by filling in a basic application form that is available online.

The online career record will provide the history of the career, identify periods during which contributions were not registered, bring in amendments in the personal records. These facilities are for the people above the age of 54.
