The Gauteng Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in the Gauteng province of South Africa is to host an e-Government conference from 7 to 8 April 2008 at Johannesburg.

The Gauteng Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in the Gauteng province of South Africa is to host an e-Government conference from 7 to 8 April 2008 at Johannesburg.

The conference is aimed at finding ways to use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure and services to deliver on the province's developmental agenda, such as reducing unemployment and poverty. The GSSC conference is to explore possible future uses of technology, such as delivering government services via cellphones and television, voting at home, and introducing biometric passports.
