The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has launched an interactive online map of Combodia to identify areas of food insecurity. The online map highlights how food security is a big challenge in the region.

WFP has developed the new WFP Food Security Atlas in concert with the Council for Agriculture and Rural Development of Cambodia. According to the agency’s Cambodia Country Director Thomas Keusters, the Atlas illustrates the fact that food security goes far beyond sufficient food production, but is affected by poverty, maternal health, access to clean water and health services, as well as shocks like natural disasters and other socio-economic vulnerability. The atlas aims to improve the handle of hunger in Cambodia by serving as an important reference in formulating the right kind of interventions.
