The 3rd World Electronic Media Forum (WEMF3) was held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre as an associated event of GK3 on10-11 December 2007. The purpose of the meet was to look at the new and fundamental changes that are taking place in the global information society. It aimed at discussing how these changes are going to affect the role of the electronic media, and also in the dissemination of knowledge, economic and business practices, political engagement and other aspects of society. It brought together broadcast executives, policy-makers, academics, journalists, visionaries and decision-makers from around the world.
The first two WEMFs were held in Geneva in 2003 and Tunis in 2005, in conjunction with the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).The aim of the WEMF is to establish ties between the WSIS and the broadcasters.
