The Information Technology Authority (ITA) of Oman has signed a RO 3.5 million agreement with GBM and NCS Group to set up the Ubar portal e-government services.

This e-Government services portal will enable the government to roll out e-services to the people and it is expected to be completed within nine months. Citizens will get access to a range of government information and services online whether provided directly via the portal or indirectly via other government portals, and websites. Ubar portal aims to transform the Sultanate of Oman into a sustainable knowledge society by leveraging ICT to enhance government services, enrich businesses and empower individuals. The services include e-Tendering, e-Taxation, services of municipalities, Ministry of Manpower, and will provide online services like suppliers invoices; inquiries of payments from the Ministry of Finance; national registry services and e-Visa.
