PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), an industry body, is working on an integrated e-Governance solution to be implemented in the north Indian states.

PHDCCI has brought out a concept paper titled 'e-Governance-An Integrated Plan' for discussion with the policy makers at the centre, states, and in the industry, as part of its on-going initiatives to create a Northern India Common Economy (NICE). This single window would be the referral point for potential investors, domestic and international traders, citizens, and researchers, and give adequate mind share in the global IT sphere. The state portals will be connected to a common data centre, providing data sharing among the states on every aspect of the industry, and trade. It will develop digitalisation in the region, barring some isolated pockets, which is perceived to be much lower compared to the southern states. It will also help 'wiring' the factories, mandis, check posts, government offices, land revenue collection centers and educational institutions.
