The Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources, Brunei has launched online fisheries (e-Fisheries) service in the country. The service, e-Fisheries is part of the e-MIPR initiative under Brunei Darussalam's e-Government project.

The e-Fisheries initiative will facilitate the realisation of the Fisheries Department's vision towards “Sustainable and Competitive Fisheries Contributing towards a Diversified Economy”. The e-Fisheries project is part of the ministry's initiative, in which the public services were told to mark 2007 as the year to improve the quality of public service delivery in order to fulfil their role as facilitators of national development. The ministry is expecting that soon the e-MIPR Business Facilitation Services will become a “single window” for all integrated services required by entrepreneurs and investors. The services will enable both foreign investors and local entrepreneurs to establish ventures within the countries to get the necessary licences and services from the Fisheries Department.
