The State Government of Punjab (India) is moving towards the direction of e-Agriculture by setting up 'Kisan Soochna Kendras', a network of agricultural information kiosks with broadband connectivity across the state.

Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd. (HFCL), famous for operations in the field of tele-communications will set up more than 2000 e-Kiosks in the state under its brand name, 'Connect'. The company will invest around INR 100 million in this project. The project would be implemented in phases . The project will hope to bridge the gap between the rural populace and the various departments of the government, as well as agricultural universities, and medical and veterinary institutions. Each kiosk would be be equipped with PCs for Internet connectivity with printing facilities. Under the project, a touch screen kiosk would be set up for every 5-village cluster, which will provide information on Agriculture and hHorticulture. This joint venture will help state government and HFCL Infotel Ltd. (HITL) to work towards information infrastructure and enhance the rural telephony and Broadband endeavor in the state.
