The city of Beaverton, Portland has launched a wireless network for its police departments, which allows police officers to work digitally from their patrol cars.
Lake Oswego firm Invictus Networks LLC has designed and installed the new network, which allows officers using Beaverton's 40 police cars to access their desktop computers, Beaverton's city network and the Portland Police data system from computers installed in the patrol cars. Officers can quickly get digitalised fingerprints and other histories from their patrol cars.
