Dataquest Study: Goa, the best e-Governed state in India

According to recent study conducted by technology consultant IDC and Dataquest magazine, Goa is the best e-Governed state in India. Other states, which follows the study as e-Governed states are Karnataka, Delhi, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.


The survey has covered 20 states and around 3033 citizens and business users equally divided between urban and rural areas of the country. The survey was based on perception as well as actual state of readiness for e-Governance. Assam has scored high for its passport services and Gujarat for power initiatives.

It highlights initiatives for improved tax collection, speedy tax assessments, increasing employment in the IT sector and export earnings from IT-related products and services. While Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Orissa and Himachal Pradesh are still following in e-Governance programmes.
