Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala (India) Passport Office has introduced an upgraded system for online registration of passport applications. 

The applicant can log on to the web site page http://passport.gov.in and select the online registration option.  All the general information would be displayed on the screen. The applicant can click on `continue' to access the online registration form. The applicants from Pathanamthitta, Kollam or Thiruvananthapuram districts may select the window for Passport Office, and give their whole details. After completing the details, applicant will press 'save' button and computer will automatically generate a reference number and a tentative date and time for submitting the application form at the passport office counter. The applicant has the option to select a later date for submission.  The main advantage of the system is that applicants need not stand in the queue.
