President of India, A P J Abdul Kalam asked the IT industry to more focus on high end products, while the ICT should touch USD 200 billion by the year 2010.

While speaking at the Infocom 2006, jointly organised by Nasscom and Business World the President Kalam told that West Bengal is pushing major force in the ICT sector. Presently, the market size is approximately USD 30 billions. He told that in the mid 1990s, the growth of the ICT sector was non-linear. However the industry is expecting to increase the growth of around 25-27 percent.  The President also urged that the software industry to focus on other areas under the e-Governance plan.
