Virginia launches toll free 2-1-1 VIRGINIA service for patients

Virginia Government announced that the Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) has activated an information line available through 2-1-1 VIRGINIA for patients to locate a health professional for themselves.

This is a pilot programme between 2-1-1 VIRGINIA and health professions regulatory agency to provide valuable health information to Virginia citizens. The 2-1-1 VIRGINIA is a toll free number, which connects the people with free information on available community services. 2-1-1 VIRGINIA is already providing free and easy access of information and referrals on child care, energy assistance etc. Through this programme, now Virginia Health department would be able to provide license and other important information to almost 34,000 doctors and more than 250,000 other health providers.
