Workshop held to train Gateway Managers on e-Government in Rawanda

National University of Rwanda convened a one day international workshop on how e-government can be rolled out from policy formulation to implementation. In this workshop development gateway managers from 13 African countries, ICT directors from different organizations, Researchers and students in the master's degree program in ICT participated.

Addressing to this workshop Senator Wellars Gasamagera of Rawanda called upon intellectual in the country to work with the parliament for an effective role of shaping the information society through use of information and communications technology (ICT), as a tool to transform Rwanda from agricultural to a knowledge based economy. He said that the Rwandan government was looking at the application of electronic means in the interaction between government, citizens and businesses, to simplify and improve democratic and business aspects of Governance.
