West Lancashire District Council tenants have a new e-Government service, which enables them online access to a multitude of chores.

The rents and benefits section has been improved so that people can pay their bill online or even download the forms to set up a direct debit. It's an easy, hassle-free way to take care of the rent without the worry of forgetting when it needs to be paid. Tenants can also order a rent statement online to check where they are up to with payments and, if they have overpaid, they can even fill in a refund form – all without having to ring the Council or come into a customer service point. The housing section also includes information on everything from how to apply for a Council house, first time buyers, housing services for the elderly, the right to buy, reporting repairs, private sector housing and general housing information to useful links, tenant and residents' groups and giving comments about the housing service the Council provides.
