Standard military e-Health record

US Congress is more keen on having electronic enabled health records system for the Defense  Department (DOD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Since both the departments treat a similar pool of patients, a common military EHR  is perceived to be useful and logical. The House and Senate also supported the system in the appropriating the bills in which they urge the VA and DOD to use a common EHR system. The system, will revolutionis the veterans’ health care system by making every veteran’s health care record accessible online to VA clinicians.  Developing  such a common data standards and repositories for DOD and the VA would provide an opportunity to lead and coordinate health care for their respective populations where both the organisations would benefit from individual and joint development efforts.
