e-Governance ensures transparency and better management

Some states of India are much ahead of other states in the field of e-Governance. The disparity in the impact of Information Communication Technologies (ICT) across the country underscores the uneven economic development. This was the unanimous view of IT experts at a seminar on 'e-Governance' organised by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in Orissa, India.

They too felt that challenges and bottlenecks faced during successful implementation of these projects must be shared by other states. Chief Secretary, Orissa, Subas Pani said e-Governance programmes are on track in the State and would be sped up in the next two years. IT experts like vice-president of IBM, India and CII observed that e-Governance not only helps economic development but also ushers in increased transparency and better management of resources. Project e-Sishu, jointly developed by OCAC, STPI and CSM Technologies, was awarded at the seminar for innovative programme in tracking each and every child of Orissa
